SharpLight IPL

What is SharpLight IPL (Intense Pulsed Light)?

SharpLight IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a treatment that is primarily used to eliminate hair roots with powerful flashes of light. However, as hair grows in cycles, multiple treatment sessions are required.

In addition, the treatment is also effective at treating acne and skin rejuvenation.

How does the treatment work?

During treatment, the light pulses penetrate the sub-dermal skin layer and are absorbed by the melanin pigment in the hair follicle. The energy is powerful enough to denaturalise the hair follicle and inhibit future hair growth, yet gentle enough to leave the surrounding tissue unharmed.

Separate handpieces allow us to use different wavelengths of light to target acne lesions or to help rejuvenate the skin cells.

How long does each session take?

Each session should take approximately 15 minutes.

Is it painful? Is there any downtime?

The pain from the SharpLight IPL treatment is minimal. The treatment has no downtime.

Is it safe?

SharpLight IPL is a very safe treatment in the hands of trained professionals. Nevertheless, we recommend you to get a proper assessment done with our doctors prior to the treatment.

Am I suitable for this treatment?

The SharpLight IPL treatment is suitable for most skin types. However, if you have a history of sensitive skin or if you are unsure if there are any other concerns that might affect your suitability for the treatment, do consult our doctors.

Can I undergo other cosmetic treatments if I am already undergoing this treatment?

Yes! In fact, our clinic highly recommends the SharpLight IPL treatment to go with other treatments!
