What is STAR2?

All encounter skin problems, even those gifted with good skin. Pollution, hereditary skin disorders, stress and aging are some of the factors that cause skin problems. For most people, having skin problems keeps them from looking their best.

The Sciton Skin Tightening And Rejuvenation (STAR2) treatment is an innovative combination of the BBL Broadband light with the SkinTyte2 Infrared technology to effectively address the full spectrum of skin conditions associated with aging, active lifestyle and sun damage.

Recommended for those who want pore refinement, skin tightening for early sagging skin and revitalisation of skin texture, STAR2 can now help one attain and maintain healthy looking skin.

What is STAR2?

STAR stands for Skin Tightening and Rejuvenation.

It is a treatment that utilises Sciton’s Skintyte2 (the upgraded version of the previous Skintyte technology) and Broadband Light (BBL). Skintyte2 delivers heat into the dermis, stimulating collagen production and minimising the appearance of pores and fine lines, while BBL uses light of different wavelengths to target imperfections of the skin such as acne scarring, pigmentation, rosacea and fine lines.

STAR2 is especially well-received by brides/grooms to be,  women with sagging jowls and who want a bit of facial contouring to achieve a slightly more “V-shape” jawline.

What areas can be treated?

Any area of your body can be treated, but the most commonly treated areas are those that appear saggy or havealost their natural collagen and elastic fibres, and areas which are commonly exposed to the damaging effects of the sun. These include the face, neck, underarms, chest and abdomen.

How many treatments does one need?

Typically, four to five treatments are recommended with four to five weeks in between each of them. After only one treatment, your skin will appear considerably lifted and feel tightened.

What happens during the procedure?

First, your eyes are covered with safety shields or glasses and a numbing cream is applied to the areas that are to be treated.

It is normal to feel a slight warming sensation as the light, applied via infra-red, is absorbed

by the targeted areas.

What should one expect after STAR2?

Areas with pigmentation may appear slightly darker but this will gradually fade over several days. Some redness in the treated areas may also be visible. This will subside within several hours.

What post-treatment care is required?

As the treated areas will be sensitive to UV radiation, it is important to avoid direct sun exposure until the areas have completely healed. However, as the procedure is non-invasive and gentle, you will be able to use makeup and resume most of your regular activities immediately.

How does one maintain the results?

STAR2 can be performed every 4-6 months as maintainence. Btx and fillers can also be administered to complement and potentiate the results of STAR2.

A good skincare regimen which includes sunblock is also essential. One recommended product is the Rejuvenation Essence from our LE Timeless range. This potent serum contains active plant cell extracts, which stimulate the skin’s cell renewal and activate the skin’s natural production of collagen and elastin. The result is a more youthful-looking complexion.
